Main game mechanic, to guess the path from top (1,2,3) to bottom (a,b,c), always going diagonally down, within 4 guesses. This game started as a ticktacktoe type game, where the board was throw away, like mine sweeper where intelligent guessing is a mechanich, and like battleship/guess who, where two players take turns at outguessing one another.
It was fun coming up with the main game mechanic and its different incarnations, and although it’s not finalized, this was one of the outcomes, a paper/guessing/word soup/jumble/choose your own adventure puzzle book. The first printing i did by hand and quickly figured that i needed to make a VBA program extension in Publisher to do many of these.
The second iteration was included as a card system in Arthief; but i scrapped that. It felt like academic inbreeding…
The third iteration was a board game like mancala, using mancala pieces. At that point i figured i needed a Bruce Shelley… not saying I’m even close to Sid Meier. Better put would be to have a hired Sancho Panza so he could keep me straight. Seen here
Thanks to Sarah Sadler, Dustin Clingman, and James Irizarry for the feedback.
